This blue commemorative plaque records: Named after Nathaniel Crewe, born in the Northamptonshire village of Steane, who became Bishop of Oxford and then Durham between 1671 and 1721. Bishop Crewe was co-founder of the original grammar school and the building was later a staff room for Daventry Grammar and comprehensive schools.
