What is recorded here

This blue commemorative plaque records: The Pends. This gatehouse linked the Abbey guest house with the church and monks' quarters. Much later, the building housed Dunfermline's first damask weaving loom, set up by James Blake in 1718. Damask linen became Dunfermline's main industry for the next 200 years.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
