This blue commemorative plaque records: Abbey Park House. This fine house, built c.1810 for James and George Spence, became the headquarters of the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust in 1952. The Trust had been set up by Andrew Carnegie in 1903 with the task of dispersing the huge endowment fund which he gave to his home town.
