This blue commemorative plaque records: Pittencrieff House. The Estate Owner's house (or Laird's House) of Pittencrieff, built in 1610 by Alexander Clerk. In 1731, the Forbes Family added a third floor to the house. The Carnegie Dunfermline Trust commissioned restoration work, designed and supervised by Robert Lorimer, in 1908 and 1911.
