This red commemorative plaque records: National Transport Trust. Transport Heritage Site. Braunston Wharf. A hub on the canal network since 1778. Developed as a freight transfer facility and still in use for maintenance of canal craft. The last wooden working boat was built here in 1958. Recorded plaque organisation: National Transport Trust.
