This blue commemorative plaque records: Rose Scott 1857-1923. Scott was an anti-poverty campaigner, supporter of adult suffrage and Northampton's first female councillor. She served on the Northampton Board of Guardians supporting widowed fathers, and as a member of the Education Committee, advocated provision of playgrounds. As Chair of the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee, she brought ground-breaking reform. She lived at this property for many years. Recorded plaque organisation: West Northamptonshire Council.
