USK BRIDGE The present Elizabethan bridge replaced a medieval bridge destroyed by floods in 1535. Replaced in 1772 it was widened in 1794 by Thomas Edwards of Eglwysilan. It had stone parapets until the 1970's when the present deck was unfortunately superimposed on the old structure. Recorded plaque organisation: Ship Street.
