This bronze commemorative plaque records: “The Matthew Haygarth Memorial Trust, 55 Bolton Street, Ramsbottom. Matthew Haygarth (21st February 1909 – 4th February 1988) bequeathed funds for the purchase of this building to provide low cost rented accommodation in the Bury area for older single persons.
