This bronze commemorative plaque records: This gateway stands on the public path along which many thousands of men passed to their training quarters in Harrowby Camp during the Great War, 1914-1918. It was erected in 1935 during the Mayoralty of the Right Hon The Lord Brownlow, D.L., J.P. Alderman R. Brittain, J.P. Chairman Parks Committee Recorded plaque organisation: Borough of Grantham.
