This bronze commemorative plaque records: South Tincroft Mine Compressor House This building was constructed in 1891 to house a horizontal, steam-driven, cross compound air compressor. Built by Harvey & Co of Hayle, it supplied compressed air to rock drills deep underground. The mine closed in 1921. Mineral Tramways Recorded plaque organisation: Mineral Tramways Project.
