This blue commemorative plaque records: Stanley Hall, built about 1802 for the cloth-merchant Benjamin Heywood, was the home of William Shaw (1804-1859), a successful contractor during the great age of railway building in the 1840s Recorded plaque organisation: Wakefield Civic Society.
