This brown commemorative plaque records: "Queens Aid House" Rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1583 by Thos Clease who carved the plaque on the gable acknowledging the help of Queen Elizabeth I in sponsoring countrywide a fund to assist the rebuilding of the town. Recorded plaque organisation: Rotary Club of Nantwich, Nantwich Civic Society.
