This brown commemorative plaque records: 46 & 48 High St. These two houses with four gables were rebuilt in 1584 after destruction in the Great Fire. One was then occupied by Thos. Church, Mercer (buried in the parish church) the other by William his nephew. Recorded plaque organisation: Rotary Club of Nantwich, Nantwich Civic Society.
