This green commemorative plaque records: The Commercial Hotel c1870 Built to accommodate the increasing number of rail passengers arriving in Rainhill, the inn served beer brewed by Knotty Ash Ales. Frederick Deeming, alias Albert Williams, the notorious murderer stayed here in 1891. Recorded plaque organisation: Rainhill Civic Society.
