What is recorded here

This green commemorative plaque records: Brewhouse and Maltings Westminster Abbey granted James Wilkins land on which to build the Parrott (later Hope) brewery in 1781. This timber-framed, brick-fronted cottage is part of the brewery that spread up the hill. An extensive tunnel stretches back into the chalk hillside. Brewing ceased in 1904. Grade II listed Recorded plaque organisation: Wheathampstead Heritage.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
