This green commemorative plaque records: St Helen's Churchyard Still in use for Christian burial, this sacred site at the heart of our community contains burials from Anglo-Saxon times. Notable monuments include those to Apsley Cherry-Garrard and Captain George Upton-Robins, hero of Hill 60 in the First World War, and six Grade II listed tombs. Recorded plaque organisation: Wheathampstead Heritage.
