This black commemorative plaque records: The Stag & Pheasant These licensed premises stand next to the former Stag and Pheasant, which is part old and part new. The new part was built in 2001-2002, as an extension to the corner property, built in 1912. A smaller Stag and Pheasant had stood on the corner plot since the early 1800s. Clumber Street was then known as Back Lane and was renamed after the road was widened. These premises were refurbished by J.D.Wetherspoon in June 2010. Recorded plaque organisation: J. D. Wetherspoon.
