This blue commemorative plaque records: Calverley Cottages. Part of the Georgian "New Town" laid out by Decimus Burton in 1828. Nos. 6 and 8 Garden Street were restored by N.P.I. who received a Royal Tunbridge Wells Civic Society 1980 Conservation Award for the work. Recorded plaque organisation: National Provident Institution.
