This blue commemorative plaque records: Stoney Lane. Limestone Lane was an 18th century wagonway that linked the quarries to the riverside kilns. The name was shortened to Stoney Lane and it became the centre for business and commerce in Victorian Southwick Recorded plaque organisation: Southwick Village Green Preservation Society.
