This blue commemorative plaque records: Edith Smith Pioneer Policewoman (1876-1923) lived here. Born, bred and raised her family in Oxton. Edith became the first warranted police woman in Britain in December 1915 Recorded plaque organisation: Oxton Society, Conservation Areas Wirral.
