This blue commemorative plaque records: Edith Smith pioneer policewoman (1876-1923) lived here. Born, bred and raised her family on Oxton. Edith became the first warranted Woman Police Officer in Britain in December 1915. Recorded plaque organisation: Conservation Areas Wirral, Oxton Society.
