This blue commemorative plaque records: James Horsfall (1813 - 1887) Industrialist and philanthropist, who manufactured the wire for the first successful transatlantic telegraph cable in 1866 and built this church for the benefit of his workforce Webster & Horsfall established in 1720 Recorded plaque organisation: Birmingham Civic Society.
