This bronze commemorative plaque records: This bridge was built to replace two brick bridges one of which stood 37 yards east and the other 32 yards west of this spot. It was opened on the 20th Day of July 1914 by Alderman Sir James Smith J.P. Chairman of the Public Works Committee. Recorded plaque organisation: City of Birmingham.
