This blue commemorative plaque records: From the 17th-century Ram Inn on this site, stage-coaches departed for London, Bristol and Birmingham until the railway era. During 1895-97 the inn was demolished, Castle Street was widened and the present building was erected originally as municipal offices Recorded plaque organisation: Cirencester Civic Society.
