This brass commemorative plaque records: These premises, completed in 1894, were formerly the headquarters of the Great North of Scotland Railway Company. They include the Company's magnificent boardroom. The adjoining Station Hotel was opened in 1900 and acquired by the Company in 1910. Both premises passed to the LNER in 1923, and to British Railways in 1948. They were sold into private ownership in 1983.
