This blue commemorative plaque records: Yma yn 1799 sefydlwyd Bac yr Eidion Du gan y porthmon, David Jones, Blaen-nos (1756-1840). Yn 1909 daeth yn rhan o Fanc Lloyds, a gadwodd lun o eidian du ar ei sieciau am sawl blwyddyn wedyn. Here in 1799 was established the Black Ox Bank by the drover, David Jones of Blaen-nos (1756-1840). In 1909 it became part of Lloyds Bank, which kept an image of a black ox on its cheques for several more years. Recorded plaque organisation: Llandovery Town Council.
