What is recorded here

This white commemorative plaque records: Dorking & District Museum The Museum now occupies much of the site of the Dorking Foundry which originated when John Bartlett established his blacksmith's forge and shop here in the 1820's. The Foundry prospered especially during the two world wars. Examples of it's early domestic and civic ironwork can be seen in the town. This building was once the office and 'clocking-on' point. Recorded plaque organisation: Dorking Heritage.
