This blue commemorative plaque records: The Mawer Group. The fine carvings adorning this building are examples of the work of these skilled and prolific Leeds-based Victorian architectural sculptors. They provided decorative stonework for many important secular, religious and civic buildings and structures. Leeds Town Hall and Trent Bridge are two of their most noted commissions.
