This blue commemorative plaque records: Thatcham Parish Council held its first meeting on 4 January 1895 in the infant school room which stood near this spot until its demolition in 1980. This plaque was erected by Thatcham Town Council to mark the centenary of that meeting. A church of England school existed on this site from 1828 until 1964.
