What is recorded here

This blue commemorative plaque records: Freemen & Guilds The Freemen are the members of Chester's Guilds, the first recorded c.1200. Only Freemen could trade freely within the city and vote for the Corporation. They still hold their bi-annual services at the Guild Church of St Peter.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
