This blue commemorative plaque records: The rear extension of the Scarth Memorial Hall was built by public subscription in the 1920s in memory of those from Staindrop who fell during World War I. In 2018 a Memorial Board, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, was installed on the staircase. Heritage Fund Recorded plaque organisation: Heritage Fund.
