This blue commemorative plaque records: The Lifeboat House Opened in 1870 for Seaham's first RNLI lifeboat "The Sisters Carter of Harrogate". Restored 2009-2013 by the East Durham hertiage group and re-opened as the home of the lifeboat The George Elmy. Recorded plaque organisation: Seaham Heritage Association.
