This blue commemorative plaque records: This steel mast was the first in Scotland of the 33,000 required from this anchor point for the electrification of the Edinburgh - London east coast main line. It was placed in position by Michael Ancram, M.P. Minister for Home Affairs and the Environment, Scottish Office, on Friday 26th April, 1985.
