This blue commemorative plaque records: Charles Barker Howdill. This prominent Leeds architect of Primitive Methodist chapels, travel photographer who ventured to the Balkans, and renowned slide show lecturer lived here. In 1901, he exhibited some of the first colour images seen at the Royal Photographic Society. 1863-1941 Recorded plaque organisation: Leeds Civic Trust.
