This brown commemorative plaque records: St. James Church - 1763 Founded in 1546, was originally a chapel of ease for Altham Parish Church. Rebuilt in 1763 and further extended in 1828, became a parish church in 1870 and was completely reroofed in 1993. Recorded plaque organisation: Accrington Acorn Trail.
