What is recorded here

This white commemorative plaque records: Hampton Cottage is a 17th century building occupied then by the widow of a falconer from nearby Thorncroft Manor. For several years in the mid 19th century, as well as being lived in, it was used as a Baptist Chapel on Sundays. The cottage became The Leatherhead Museum and Heritage Centre in 1980 and contains many items of local interest. Recorded plaque organisation: Leatherhead Heritage Trail.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
