This blue commemorative plaque records: The Former Royal Hotel Built as an inn by Joseph Taite in 1753, at the same time the Tadcaster-Otley road became a turnpike. The original section of the building is recorded as the first substantial house in Boston Spa and was named 'Farrers Hotel'. The building is Grade II Listed Recorded plaque organisation: Boston Spa Parish Council.
