This blue commemorative plaque records: Clayton Hospital The Wakefield dispensary moved to this site in 1854 when gifts from Thomas Clayton enabled in-patient care in 1863. A new wing was added and the name changed to the Clayton Hospital and Wakefield Dispensary. The building was later converted to offices (city chambers) and was demolished in 1973. Recorded plaque organisation: Wakefield Civic Society.
