This green commemorative plaque records: Gateshead's last windmill. This stone ring commemorates the seven gateshead windmills which stood upon these slopes. The last of these was demolished in 1905 and its stone was reclaimed to construct this viewing platform. Recorded plaque organisation: Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council.
