This brushed metal commemorative plaque records: Arty G. McGonigle 1948-2007. From this spot Arty, beloved son of Omagh, entertained passers by for nigh on thirty years. His inimitable style of music, singing self penned lyrics to acoustic guitar, was combined with a ready wit and natural friendliness. Arty had a particular affinity with young people and they responded to his untimely death by running fund raising events. These events paid for the erection of this memorial plaque. Pictured in Charlie Fox's iconic photograph, is Arty in a reflective mood, accompanied by his faithful canine companion Gizmo.
