What is recorded here

This green commemorative plaque records: Tracks Back in Time Found on the Runcorn Hill, these rails have been used to create a reconstruction of the original drum lines that used to carry wagons (or bogeys) transporting the quarried sandstone to the docs where the rock would be loaded onto ships for exportation. These wagons required no power and relied upon the drum pulley system to transport the rock. The loaded wagons travelling down to Western Docks would pull up the empty wagons for reloading. Recorded plaque organisation: Halton Borough Council.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
