This white commemorative plaque records: Lewes Clockmakers In the 18th Century Lewes was home to many fine clockmakers. The noted Lewes clockmaker Richard Comber (1742-1824) had his business here early in his career. Later moved to 68 High Street. Recorded plaque organisation: Lewes Town Council.
