This red commemorative plaque records: Jesmond Flint Mill. Among the trees on the left are the remains of an 18th to 19th Century flint mill. Flint, carried back from London as ballast in collier ships, was ground for use in the pottery industry. Recorded plaque organisation: Heaton History Group, Heritage Lottery Fund.
