This green commemorative plaque records: The Angel was built c1850 to replace a much older inn. A 19th century landlord was Daniel Boyes, a leading Liberal town councillor, who was active in Beverley's corrupt elections. Recorded plaque organisation: Beverley and District Civic Society.
