This black commemorative plaque records: To the memory of Winston Harwood 1941-2005. He provided the leadership and physical effort for the restoration of many structues on the Wey and Arun Canal. He was the inspiration and driving force for the rebuilding of all the structures here at the Lordings Section of the Canal. He will always be remembered by those who had the pleasure of working with him.
