This blue commemorative plaque records: Built in 1680 for a wine merchant. The vaulted wine cellar, with a 'barrel run' and the sliding kitchen window through which villages handed their jugs to be filled with wine from the casks still remains. The house was, at some time, known locally The Vaults.
