This blue commemorative plaque records: Bull Brow pre-1851 It is believed that the name of this passage comes from cattle being brought to the nearby slaughterhouses. This pathway led to the River Roch where bull-baiting was a regular attraction until the fatal event of November 8th 1820, which marked the end of this savage pastime in Rochdale Recorded plaque organisation: Rochdale Civic Society.
