This blue commemorative plaque records: Golden Acre Park. Opened in 1932 as a large amusement park complete with a dance hall, ponies, a miniature railway, motor launches, a water-chute and a monorail. In 1938 the venture failed. The site was acquired by Leeds City Council in 1945. Recorded plaque organisation: Leeds Civic Trust.
