This bronze commemorative plaque records: This building was the Northampton Infirmary from 1744 - 1793. It was founded through the work of The Revd' Sir James Stonhouse, Bart, MD, supported by The Revd. Philip Doddridge DD. In 1793 the Infirmary was moved to Billing Road
