This blue commemorative plaque records: Silksworth Village School Built as a Church of England School in 1852 by Mr E. Robinson, a local landowner who lived in Silksworth Hall, it also served for 20 years as a place of worship until the Parish Church was built. The School finally closed in 1967. Recorded plaque organisation: City of Sunderland.
